Alena Rose Feldman is a professional soprano and experienced voice teacher who is passionate about helping singers develop healthy, expressive, and sustainable voices. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Boston University and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and has completed formal coursework in vocal pedagogy at both institutions.

Alena has taught private and class voice at Boston University College of Fine Arts, where she worked with non-major undergraduate students in both individual lessons and classroom settings. She has also taught students ages 4–15 at Merry Melody Music Academy, working with young singers in a variety of styles while emphasizing healthy classical technique, musicianship, performance skills, and confidence. Her teaching experience extends beyond the private studio as well; through her work with Boston Public Schools and VOICES Boston, she has developed extensive experience communicating with and supporting students of different ages, learning styles, and backgrounds.

Her teaching focuses on developing a strong technical foundation while helping each singer discover their own unique voice and artistry. Lessons may incorporate breath coordination, resonance, diction, vocal exercises, musicianship, interpretation, acting, and performance technique. While her own specialty is classical singing, Alena has experience working across genres, including classical, musical theatre, and pop/rock, and adapts her approach to the individual goals and interests of each student.

Alena believes that effective voice teaching should be both technically grounded and encouraging. She strives to give students clear, concrete instruction and practical tools they can understand and apply independently, while fostering curiosity and confidence in their own voices. Her background as a professional performer allows her to bring firsthand experience of auditions, rehearsals, performance preparation, and the demands of a career in classical music into her teaching.

Whether working with a beginning young singer, or a collegiate non-major, Alena meets each student where they are and helps them build the skills, awareness, and confidence to become more expressive and capable musicians.
